This is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Albufeira, The Algarve 🇵🇹 🍛. It serves authentic South Indian food 🇮🇳 🥘 and its menu also spans into other Indian cuisines like tasty Punjabi food (eg curries and naan breads) and Indo-Chinese food too. This restaurant’s Vegetarian Manchurian dish is the best I’ve ever tasted! If you fancy an Indian Thali then I would recommend this also … they serve the Thali on a very unique Thali which is the shape of India’s map. A very instagramable photo opportunity right there. South indian food is really delicious. Special mention to Punugulu, allam chutney, palpi chutney and vada. Biryani could have been better. Tea at the end is good as well. We specially liked the service and friendly behaviour of the staff. Special attraction is lemon and other fruit trees in the backyard.

The South Indian Kitchen is located on the main road with many restaurants. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu was a mixture of South Indian and North Indian cuisine. The service was very good. The food was authentic Indian, and we loved it, especially the non veg Thali. The other dishes were delicious too. Overall, it was an great dining experience, which we would highly recommend.

A lovely little place with some of the freshest tastiest and curries we've ever had. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed it so much we went straight back again for dinner the next day! Excellent value for the quality.

Fantastic service and delicious food. Chef/owner came out to greet us after food was served. I'm Indian and that was the best chicken dosa I've had anywhere in the world. Crispy corn delicious too. Really great service, good side portions and well priced. Definitely will be visiting again!

The most homely food and feeling I have gotten outside of India. My husband and I visited here twice for dinner and lunch in 2 days itself. The restaurant owner and all their staff is very sweet, friendly and hospitable. All their curries, dosas, masalas are prepared fresh, so the food preparation may take some time but it's worth the wait.
Order for dinner on 1st day :
1. Idli, sambar chutney
2. Puri bhaji
3. Vegetarian momos
4. filter coffee
5. Fresh lime soda
6. gulab jamun
Order for lunch on 2nd day:
1. Paneer dosa
2. Mysore sada dosa
3. Lemon rice
4. Mango Lassi
5. Fresh lime soda
They have an extensive menu with south Indian, Punjabi, Nepali food options. All their food was delicious, not heavy on the stomach as it can be at many Indian restaurants. If you only get to try one Indian restaurant in Albufeira, make it this one. Very unpretentious, small restaurant, we were reading the menu outside and a very helpful staff member assisted. Now, we love our Indian food and are fussy, so it was with some trepidation that we decided to give it a try. I asked the waiter/host if we could have our dishes very, very, hot and he said yes, but I think he was looking at me and thinking " he can't handle very very hot". Well, the Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Madras were stunning, very spicy and tasty. The Jeera rice and Chili Garlic Naan were delicious. Along with the house wine and a large bottle of water and 2 double sambucas, the bill came to €56.90. Stunning meal and one of the best Indian meals we have had.- Estacionamento

A truly authentic place, absolutely worth visiting! The service is really friendly and the momo soup was a real treat. Almost everything can be made vegan. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for the best, this is where to go!!! Definitely! We‘ve been eating Indian food in India itself, in Singapore, UK, USA, Germany and lots of other countries….but here it’s simply the best! We found this place - by chance - via internet - and my Dosa + Sambar was excellent as well as my wife‘s bhindi masala. Unfortunately we are flying out but hope to be back - it‘s worthwhile!

Sundar was amazing, no request was too much. We had dosa without onion and garlic. We had vada pau, chilli panner, jeera aloo and all was so delicious. Highly recommended - great value for money

Very delicious, homely and authentic indian food that we tried in Albufeira. We tried Masala Dosa, Kara dosa, poori masala, Chilli gobi, Onion pakora, Hyderabadi Dum Biriyani, Masala chai were extremely good. Effort they are putting in serving fresh food, fresh mint chutney makes the visit worth. Hope to visit again when in Albufeira.

A must eat place if you are in Albufeira. We were there on all 5 days for some crispy, golden plain and masala dosas, pooris, flavourful starters (onion pakoda is a must try), Biryanis. Perfectest coconut chutney. Authentic homemade taste. Very happy! PS: They take their time to prepare for you. So make sure you are not in too much of a hurry.
